Accommodation
Each of the three main guest bedrooms at Higher Melcombe Manor offers visitors a totally different ambience. On the first floor the historic bedroom with its fine ceiling, linenfold paneling, and sumptuous fabrics. Then up to the recently refurbished top floor, and enter the 20th century. Two new bedrooms, each in a totally different style and colour scheme, and with brand new en-suite bathrooms, fully furnished with all life's creature comforts.

Higher Melcombe Manor - Attic Kitchenette
TV Snug
All contemporary in here! Two long modern sofas plus a flat screen television and DVD player. Comfy giant cushions and snuggly rugs should you wish to veto the walk up to the Dorset Gap and veg out instead, or enjoy a pre-dinner flop in your bathrobe.
Kitchenette
This isn't for aspiring Jamie Olivers (no hob) - we do all that slog for you on the ground floor. But there's a fridge, sink and tea/coffee/drinks facilities for those who want to make their own without venturing downstairs.

If the idea of popping a cork or boiling a kettle is all too much, then simply descend to the drawing room and enjoy the window seat or settle in front of the huge log fire with your book. You can snooze to your heart's content.
Guests are also invited to use the traditional dining room, complete with candelabra and another cosy fire. Here you can gaze at garden views whilst tucking into bacon and eggs or smoked salmon, and spread the Sunday papers over the oak refectory table.

Higher Melcombe Manor
Drawing Room
Mullion windows around a window seat, a huge brick fireplace, and chintz sofas and chairs. Hardly a "Homes & Gardens" photo opportunity (yet!), but a room that's comfortable with itself, and for you. Lots of room to spread around with the papers in the morning or enjoy an evening drink in front of the roaring log fire.
Dining Room
More stone mullions overlooking the front lawn, overlooked by the essential ancestral portraits and lit by candelabra when the sun doesn't shine. Perfect venue for the big breakfast after the night before.

Higher Melcombe Manor - Dining Room
For the less formally inclined the kitchen is another haven. Here traditional truly meets contemporary. Flagstone floor, funky lighting, fantastic fridges, and of course, the essential and ever warm Aga naturally.
