• Take the Piddlehinton exit (B3142)
• first left to Cheselbourne, then
• first right into Long Lane.
• Continue along this quiet country road for 5 miles until you reach the crossroads at Melcombe Bingham.
• Turn left, signed ‘Private Road to Higher Melcombe’ and follow the lane until the end of the avenue of limes, planted in 1940-41 to commemorate the Battle of Britain. The entrance to Higher Melcombe Manor is left over a cattle grid - just before the bend in the road, and opposite the back of the farm buildings.
