The Garden Room
Higher Melcombe Manor - Garden Room

Named for its dormer window with portières, this room overlooks the west lawn and herbaceous border with pond and fountain to the west of the house. The view continues to the wooded hills beyond, leading to the Dorset Gap.

The acer's foliage in the far bed gives a shot of colour, even before the clematis climbing the walls begins to bloom.

This bright, light room has a traditional feel: brass and black bedstead, antique furniture. Plenty of storage space; both hanging and drawers, and a corner chair to relax in.

The ensuite bathroom though, is modern and fully tiled (though with one beam still exposed), with a large bath and fixed shower and heated towel rail. And of course - with all the usual plush towels and waffle dressing gowns.

Just the thing after a long walk through the woods!
